1	TAHU	Murid tahu perkara asas, atau boleh melakukan kemahiran asas atau memberi respons terhadap perkara yang asas.
2	TAHU  DAN FAHAM	Murid menunjukkan kefahaman untuk menukar bentuk komunikasi atau menterjemah serta menjelaskan apa yang telah dipelajari.
3	TAHU, FAHAM DAN BOLEH BUAT	Murid menggunakan pengetahuan untuk melaksanakan sesuatu kemahiran pada suatu situasi.
4	TAHU, FAHAM DAN BOLEH BUAT DENGAN BERADAB	Murid melaksanakan sesuatu kemahiran dengan beradab, iaitu mengikut prosedur atau secara sistematik.
5	TAHU, FAHAM DAN BOLEH BUAT DENGAN BERADAB TERPUJI	Murid melaksanakan sesuatu kemahiran pada situasi baru, dengan mengikut prosedur atau secara sistematik, serta tekal dan bersikap positif.
6	TAHU, FAHAM DAN BOLEH BUAT DENGAN BERADAB MITHALI	Murid mampu menzahirkan idea yang kreatif dan inovatif,  mempunyai keupayaan membuat keputusan untuk mengadaptasi permintaan serta cabaran dalam kehidupan seharian serta boleh berbicara untuk mendapatkan dan menyampaikan maklumat menggunakan ayat yang sesuai secara bertatasusila dan menjadi contoh secara tekal.

AIMS OF ENGLISH SYLLABUS

The English syllabus aims to extend  learners’ English language proficiency in order to meet their needs for English in everyday life, for knowledge acquisition, and for future workplace needs. 

OBJECTIVES OF ENGLISH SYLLABUS

By the end of Form 2, learners should be able to:

i.      make friends and talk about themselves, recount experiences and also enquire about the person(s) they are talking to;

ii.     make enquiries about services, making a booking/appointment, and fill in an application form;

iii.    socialise with friends and in groups make plans and arrangements for joint activities;

iv.    obtain information from various text-types such as articles and reports and present the information briefly to others orally and

        in writing;

v.     read and enjoy poems and short stories;

vi.   have a positive outlook and act appropriately in social situations; and

vii.  show an awareness and appreciation of moral values and love towards the nation.

6	Appreciate literary works and present ideas critically in an exemplary manner.
